Choosing the right equipment
Choosing the right equipment
Choose a unit from a trusted brand known for quality manufacturing and availability of spare parts.
Choosing the right equipment
Outdoor unit installation: In a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight if possible, and mounted on a solid, level base.
Tighten connections: Ensure all connections are mechanically tight using appropriate torque tools to prevent leakage.
Certified and Licensed Technician: Ensure that the technician or company is licensed and specialized.
Labor and Parts Warranty: You must obtain a written warranty on manufacturing and installation.
Correct Work Tools: The technician must use specialized tools (vacuum pump, pressure gauge), not basic tools.
Adhere to Manufacturer's Specifications: Follow the air conditioner's instruction manual carefully.
1. Regular Maintenance (recommended twice a year before peak seasons - summer and winter):
Cleaning the air filters: Clean or replace the indoor unit filters every two weeks to a month during continuous operation. Dirty filters are the main cause of decreased cooling efficiency and increased consumption.
Cleaning the coils:
Evaporator coil (indoor unit): Clean it to ensure efficient heat absorption.
Condenser coil (outdoor unit): Clean it periodically of dust and debris, as their accumulation hinders heat dissipation and places significant strain on the compressor.
Inspecting and cleaning the fans: Ensure that the indoor and outdoor unit fans rotate freely and without obstructions.
Checking the refrigerant (furnace) level: A specialized technician must check the pressure in the system to ensure there are no leaks and that the gas quantity is adjusted according to the manufacturer's specifications. Caution: Adding gas without addressing the root cause (the leak) is a temporary and potentially harmful solution.
Checking the drainage system: Ensure that the water drain pipe is clear and free of blockages that could cause water leakage.
Check electrical connections: Check connections, wires, and cables for damage or looseness.
